
SEN Teaching Assistant – Derby City

Setting: Primary (1:1 & Small Group Support)
A lovely primary school in Derby City are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from January. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children with additional needs and helping them thrive both academically and emotionally.
About the Role
Supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, including ASC, speech and language needs, and SEMH
Providing 1:1 support as well as small-group interventions
Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to implement personalised learning plans
Helping to create a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment
Using positive behaviour strategies to promote engagement and independence
Building strong working relationships with pupils, staff, and families
About You
Experience working with children with SEND (school or care settings)
Calm, patient, and nurturing approach
Confident communicating with children with varied needs and abilities
Able to work collaboratively as part of a supportive team
Reliability, adaptability, and a genuine passion for helping children succeed
Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification is desirable but not essential
