• This is a varied Production Director role and does need someone who can implement new systems and bring ideas to help drive continuous improvement throughout the different manufacturing processes. 

Are you an experienced Production Director from a metal / heavy fabrication background looking for a new challenge and implement positive change to an already profitable business? 

We are working with a fabrication engineering business who are looking to recruit a versatile Production Director to help oversee change during an exciting time for the business. You will have a lot of autonomy to implement your own ideas. The company culture is excellent and very supportive, which is demonstrated by the long length of tenure across the team. 

Salary & Hours: c£75,000 to £80,000 as a guide + Lucrative profit related bonus + 30 days holiday (+banks) + Private healthcare  

This Production Director job will suit:

• Demonstrable experience within a Production Director position (or similar) within a heavy engineering environment. 
• A strong understanding of different manufacturing processes, including fabrication, coatings, assembly and fitting of heavy engineering products. 
• Have a proven track record of managing large-scale production operations and delivering strong operational performance
• A good man manager who is capable of leading, developing, and mentoring production managers, supervisors, and operational teams.
• Someone with knowledge of production management systems as the business are looking to implement Sage. 
• Have a strategic mindset and have wider experience of managing operational budgets, performance metrics, and key production KPIs.

The Production Director job will involve:

• Leading all production operations, including fabrication, coating, assembly, fitting, and yard activities.
• Overseeing production planning, resource allocation, and capacity management to meet current and future demand.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost performance. 
• Leading the implementation of new production planning systems to enable better data collection for analysis and improvements.
• Developing and mentoring the existing team and identifying opportunities to help upskill where possible. 
• Manage production budgets, control costs, and support capital investment decisions in equipment and infrastructure.
• Working closely with Quality, Health & Safety to ensure full compliance and promote best practice.
