Project Manager – Electrical

The role:
As Electrical Project Manager, you will lead the delivery of electrical works across turnkey material handling projects, overseeing all phases from planning and design through installation, commissioning, and handover. You will coordinate with mechanical and civils teams, manage budgets, ensure safety compliance, and maintain strong client and stakeholder engagement to deliver projects on time and to a high standard.
Key responsibilities:
Lead the end-to-end delivery of electrical projects for quarrying, aggregates, and heavy industry clients
Oversee design, procurement, installation, logistics, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems
Work with design teams to optimise safety, buildability, cost, and energy efficiency
Manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to ensure safe and coordinated delivery
Monitor progress against programme and develop contingency plans as needed
Manage project budgets, variations, and identify risks to cost, schedule, or scope early
Embed health and safety best practices into all site operations
Coordinate commissioning plans and integrate them with construction and handover activities
Chair client and stakeholder meetings and provide clear progress and risk reporting
Capture lessons learnt and feed into continuous improvement processes
About you:
Degree or HND in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent industry experience
Proven experience delivering electrical projects, ideally in heavy industrial or material handling environments
Strong understanding of electrical systems, distribution, automation, and commissioning
Ability to manage multiple packages, disciplines, and interfaces within projects
Commercially aware with experience managing budgets, contracts, and change
Excellent leadership and communication skills, coordinating subcontractors and client teams both on-site and remotely
Proficient in Microsoft Project or similar scheduling and reporting tools
Willingness to travel to project sites across the UK
Desirable skills/experience:
Experience with large-scale material handling processes in quarrying, aggregates, or heavy industry
Integration experience between erection and follow-on trades in construction
Knowledge and application of project management methodologies
Electrical design and build experience
