Job Description:
Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be supporting a leading manufacturing business in their search for a Quality Assurance & Laboratory Manager. This is a key leadership role within the Operations function, responsible for managing the Quality Management System, leading the QA and Laboratory teams, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing processes and products.

Reporting to the Head of Quality and Continuous Improvement, the Quality Assurance & Laboratory Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily quality operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and delivering continuous improvement initiatives across the business.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and improve the Quality Management System in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 13485
- Lead and manage the Quality Assurance and Laboratory teams, including training, mentoring and performance development
- Conduct internal and external audits and liaise with regulatory bodies, notified bodies and third-party auditors
- Drive quality performance through analysis of scrap, cost of quality, and customer complaint data
- Produce monthly quality performance reports and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain manufacturing specifications, SOPs and process documentation
- Ensure accurate mechanical testing and compliance with internal and external specifications
- Manage calibration systems for all quality and laboratory equipment
- Oversee shop floor quality from raw material preparation through to final dispatch
- Support production teams with quality problem solving and root cause analysis
- Monitor Right First Time performance and quality trend data
- Lead customer complaint investigations and corrective action activities
- Manage laboratory workload, staffing levels and departmental resource planning
- Support new product introduction through testing, validation and approval activities
- Provide technical expertise relating to metallurgy, materials and process quality
- Prepare technical reports, customer documentation and certification
- Manage departmental budgets and continuous improvement objectives
About You
We are looking for an experienced Quality professional with strong leadership and technical capabilities, ideally from a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Essential Skills & Experience:
- Strong experience managing Quality Management Systems
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality assurance methodologies
- Experience leading and developing quality or laboratory teams
- Six Sigma certification
- Experience within metals, engineering, or regulated manufacturing environments
- Metallurgical knowledge or materials expertise
