Location: Nottingham
Salary: £40k - £45k per annum
Shift: Full time Monday - Friday
About the Company
Our client is a leading Tier 2 aerospace manufacturer specialising in plasma coating, paint and machining for major OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers.
The Role
As a Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products and processes meet regulatory, customer and company quality requirements. The role supports continuous improvement initiatives, manages non-conformances and ensures compliance with AS9100 and customer specifications.
- Develop, implement and maintain quality assurance processes aligned with AS9100 and ISO9001 standards
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions for non-conformances
- Support First Article Inspection activities in line with AS9102 requirements
- Liaise with suppliers and customers to resolve quality concerns and drive improvement
- Support internal and external audits in line with AS9100 requirements
- Prepare and maintain quality documentation including inspection plans, control plans and quality reports
- Monitor key performance indicators and recommend improvements for quality metrics
- Participate in new product introduction projects to ensure quality requirements are met from concept to production
- Work with production teams on quality standards and best practices
- Champion continuous improvement initiatives using tools such as Six Sigma, Lean and 8D problem solving
About You
- Proven experience as a Quality Engineer within the aerospace, automotive or precision engineering sector
- Strong understanding of AS9100 and ISO9001 quality management systems
- Familiarity with AS9102 FAI, PPAP, APQP and NADCAP processes is desirable
- Experience with root cause analysis and problem solving methodologies including 5 Why, 8D and FMEA
- Knowledge of aerospace materials, processes and standards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in quality tools and systems such as Minitab, SPC, CMM and ERP or MRP systems
