Quantity Surveyor / Senior Quantity Surveyor – New Build Housing

Derby / Nottingham | Excellent Salary + Package

A well-established and highly respected construction contractor is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to join its expanding commercial team delivering new-build social housing schemes across Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

This is a key role within a stable business with a strong pipeline of work and a reputation for quality delivery. Candidates from a main contractor or housing contractor background are particularly encouraged to apply, and a Senior Quantity Surveyor would be considered for the right individual.

The Role

You will take responsibility for the commercial management of new-build residential developments, working closely with operational teams to ensure projects are delivered efficiently and profitably.

Duties will include:

• Full commercial management of live projects

• Preparing and controlling budgets and cost plans

• Procurement of subcontract packages

• Valuations and applications for payment

• Managing variations and change control

• Cost reporting and forecasting

• Subcontractor account management

• Final accounts and project close-out

• Supporting junior commercial staff (at Senior level)

The Ideal Candidate

You will likely come from a contractor background and have:

• Proven experience delivering new-build residential or social housing schemes

• A strong understanding of cost control and subcontract procurement

• Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge

• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills

• The ability to work independently across multiple sites

• Relevant construction or surveying qualifications

Senior-level candidates should also be comfortable leading projects and mentoring junior team members.
