Are you an experienced Heavy Plant Fitter looking for steady contract work in the quarrying sector?

We're actively recruiting Quarry Fitters and Heavy Plant Mechanics to support ongoing work within the quarrying and aggregates industry. This is a long-term contract opportunity suited to hands-on engineers who enjoy fault-finding, repairs, and site-based work on heavy machinery.

If you're self-employed, practical, and confident working on quarry and heavy plant equipment, this role offers consistent hours, a competitive hourly rate, and a supplied van.

The Role

As a Quarry Fitter / Heavy Plant Mechanic, your responsibilities will include:

• Repairing, maintaining, and fitting heavy plant machinery
• Carrying out site-based servicing and breakdown repairs
• Working on quarrying and aggregates equipment
• Diagnosing mechanical faults and completing repairs efficiently
• Supporting production by minimising downtime on critical equipment

What We're Looking For

We're keen to speak with engineers who have real-world, hands-on experience, including:

• Heavy plant equipment such as diggers, dumpers, excavators, loading shovels, 360s, and tracked machinery
• Quarrying equipment such as crushers, screeners, trommels, and loading shovels
• Fabrication and welding experience (advantageous, not essential)
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
• A practical, problem-solving mindset with a strong work ethic
