Job Description:
Refurbishment Technician Castle Donington |
Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5pm (37.5 hours) £28,000 – £30,000 per annum
Are you someone who enjoys practical, hands-on work and takes pride in bringing items back to life? We’re on the lookout for a Refurbishment Technician to join a well-established and friendly team based in Castle Donington. We’re working with a well-established specialist SME business in Castle Donington who operate across Europe,
This Refurbishment Technician role is ideal for someone with a good grasp of tools and basic electrical know-how, who can work independently, spot what needs fixing, and just get on with the job.
What you’ll be doing as a Refurbishment Technician:
You’ll be working on a range of goods, inspecting returned equipment, carrying out repairs where needed, and preparing items for resale. Some may need a clean and a new door seal, others may need panels replaced or hinges refitted. No two days will be quite the same.
You’ll be:
- Carrying out hands-on repair work using a variety of hand and power tools
- Assessing damage and deciding whether to repair, recondition, or regrade returned goods
- Cleaning and restoring equipment ready for future use
- Logging your work accurately and following basic reporting procedures
- Occasionally visiting sites alongside a senior engineer (though this is a workshop-based role)
- Supporting efforts to reduce unnecessary write-offs and get items back into stock
The ideal Refurbishment Technician will have: - A practical and reliable approach with a ‘can-do’ attitude
- Experience using tools and basic electrical skills – if you can wire a plug and understand the difference between live and neutral, you’re off to a good start
- Good computer literacy (Word, Excel) and able to record information clearly
- An eye for detail and a tidy, methodical working style
- A background in general maintenance or a similar field would be advantageous
- A forklift licence is useful but not essential – training can be provided
- Ideally someone with some work experience under their belt, rather than a school leaver
What’s in it for you as a Refurbishment Technician: - A Monday to Friday, full-time permanent role with stable hours
- A collaborative team environment with ongoing support from a senior engineer
- The opportunity to progress over time – future potential to train as an engineer
- A chance to work for a growing European business with a supportive culture
If you’re the kind of Refurbishment Technician who prefers to be hands-on rather than stuck behind a desk, and you enjoy the satisfaction of seeing your work make a real difference, then we’d love to hear from you.
