Hours: Tuesday – Friday, 06:00 – 15:45 (30-minute lunch break)
JT Recruit are recruiting Temporary Refuse Collectors to support a local authority in delivering a high-quality refuse and recycling service for local residents and businesses.
About the Role
Work as part of a crew to ensure the safe and efficient collection of refuse, recycling, and garden waste across the city.
Main Duties:
Collect and load refuse, recycling, and garden waste into collection vehicles
Operate and handle bins, bags, and bulky waste safely
Assist the driver with vehicle maneuvers in tight or busy areas
Follow collection schedules and safety regulations
Report issues such as missed collections, contamination, damaged bins, or hazards
Adhere to health & safety guidelines, including correct PPE and safe lifting
Provide polite, professional customer service when required
Assist with cleaning vehicles and equipment as needed
Training & Induction:
Compulsory 2-day on-site training (date TBC)
Then 3 days assigned to a team as extra crew for final induction sign-off
Annual refresher training required
