Residential Support Worker (RSW)

Job Description:

We are recruiting Residential Support Workers to join a brand-new solo EBD children’s home supporting one young person on a 2:1 staffing ratio.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new home from the very beginning, where relationships, care and consistency come first.

Salary: £13 per hour | £60 per sleep
Hours: 165–173 hours per month (including 2 monthly team meetings)

Shift Pattern

We are very flexible and open to:

• Single shifts

• Double or triple shifts

• Long day sleeps (10 per month)

Long Day Sleep:

10am – 11pm | Sleep | 7am – 10.30am (handover)

• Support one child with emotional and behavioural difficulties

• Create a safe, nurturing, home-from-home environment

• Build positive relationships and provide consistent care

• Promote routines, boundaries, education and emotional development

• Work as part of a small, dedicated team

What We’re Looking For

• Experience in residential childcare is essential

• Qualification is desirable but not essential

• Caring, passionate, and reliable with strong personal values

• Someone with personality who genuinely wants to make a difference

• Able to work flexibly and professionally

The Registered Manager and Deputy provide regular 1:1 development sessions, with a strong focus on growth, confidence and leadership.

This is not an institutional home – it’s warm, child-centred and relationship-led.
