Sales Engineer

Job Description:

An opportunity for Sales Engineer is available with my client who is a leading manufacturer of electrical and industrial automation products to a wide range of industries. The role is office based with occasional customer visits as and when required. Their ideal candidate will have proven understanding of electrical engineering, educated with a relevant qualification HNC, apprentice trained or equivalent as well as customer facing technical sales background.

Sales Engineer role:
As the successful Sales Engineer you will report to the Sales Director. Work 38hrs per week Mon-Friday. Be office based and be responsible for:  
Customer contact via telephone, email, face and face to face
Manage, understand and interpret customer requirements
Produce designs and costed solutions 
Quotations and follow ups
Maintain excellent product knowledge and applications
Provide technical expertise and product education to customers
Processed orders quickly and concisely 
Maintaining up-to-date records of enquiries, quotations, orders and customer activity
Pursue new business opportunities
Occasional site and customer visits
Support internal teams
Build relationships with customers

Sales Engineer requirement:
Educated ideally to HNC level in electrical, electronic or control engineering or equivalent 
Proven customer facing focussed sales experience
Problem solving 
Technical mindset and able to read and interpret technical data and translate to others
Good IT skills, including Microsoft products including Word and Excel
To be organised, self-motivated, accurate and have an eye for detail

Sales Engineer package:
Salary is dependent on experience
