SEMH Teaching Assistant

Are you a dedicated Teaching Assistant looking to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Are you seeking a full-time role in a supportive school with the opportunity to secure a permanent position?

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting a Full-Time SEMH Teaching Assistant for a friendly and inclusive school in the NG13 postcode area. This is a temp-to-perm role, starting as soon as possible, offering rewarding work while providing stability and career progression.

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEMH needs

• Support behaviour management, emotional wellbeing, and engagement in learning

• Assist in planning and delivering activities to support academic and social development

• Work collaboratively with class teachers, SENCO, and pastoral staff

• Help create a structured, safe, and nurturing classroom environment

• Experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs

• Backgrounds in education, care, youth work, or mental health support are highly desirable

• Calm, patient, and resilient with excellent interpersonal skills

• Proactive and able to adapt to different pupil needs

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

• Full-time SEMH Teaching Assistant role with a daily pay of £100-£130 depending on experience

• Immediate start with temp-to-perm pathway
