Together in Learning is delighted to be recruiting on behalf of our valued clients based in Coventry, CV3 who are an inspiring Special Educational Needs School supporting children aged 4-18. We are seeking enthusiastic PMLD experienced Teaching Assistants who are committed to providing exceptional care and support to students with complex needs.
The Role:
As a PMLD Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in enhancing the learning and well-being of students. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing one-to-one and small-group support for students with PMLD
- Assisting with personal care, including feeding, toileting and mobility support
- Supporting sensory and communication needs, using alternative communication methods such as PECS and Makaton
- Creating a safe, engaging, and nurturing learning environment
- Working closely with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure holistic support for each student
What We’re Looking For:
- Extensive care experience (e.g., working in a care setting, SEN school, or similar environment)
- A patient, empathetic, and positive attitude
- A passion for supporting children and young people with complex needs
- Experience with personal care and moving & handling (training can be provided)
- A proactive and team-focused approach
