
SEN Teaching Assistant – Secondary School – Coventry

We are looking for committed and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join a GOOD Ofsted-rated secondary school in Coventry. The Role
As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff and the SEN department to help students with a range of additional needs thrive in school. Your responsibilities will include:
Providing 1:1 and small-group support for students with SEN (e.g., ASD, ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties)
Supporting students in accessing lesson materials across a range of subjects
Adapting resources and activities to meet individual learning needs
Encouraging positive behaviour, engagement and independence
Helping to develop, review and implement personalised learning plans and EHCP targets
Supporting students’ emotional regulation, social development and confidence
Assisting with classroom routines and general administrative tasks
About You
We are looking for someone who is:
Experienced supporting young people with SEN (school experience desirable but not essential)
Patient, empathetic and able to build strong, trusting relationships with students
Confident communicating with staff, pupils, parents and external professionals
Calm, resilient and able to respond positively to challenges
Proactive, adaptable and able to work well as part of a supportive team
Enthusiastic about inclusion and helping students overcome barriers to learning
