Location: Rugby, CV22
Weekly Rate: £455-£480
Start Date: 01/09/2025
Hours: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Contract: Long Term to Permanent
We're recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Rugby (CV22). This full-time role involves supporting pupils in Year 5 and Year 6 with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
You'll be working closely with children who require consistent, nurturing support to manage behaviour, regulate emotions, and access learning. A proactive, calm, and relationship-focused approach is essential, alongside experience in spotting signs of dysregulation and supporting pupils with additional needs.
The Role:
Support Year 5 & 6 pupils with SEMH, trauma, and attachment needs
Provide 1:1 and small group support
Use de-escalation strategies and behaviour plans
Spot early signs of dysregulation and respond appropriately
Promote progress in emotional regulation and learning
Build positive relationships with pupils and the wider team
Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO, and specialists
The Ideal Candidate:
Level 2/3 TA qualification (or equivalent)
Experience with SEMH, trauma or behavioural needs
Skilled in behaviour management and de-escalation
Calm, empathetic and resilient under pressure
Able to work flexibly across upper KS2
Confident delivering tailored support and intervention
