
SEN Teaching Assistant – Full Time, Temporary
Location: Nottingham
Start Date: Immediately
Salary: £95–£115 per day
Education Personnel is working in partnership with a caring and inclusive primary school in Nottingham to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children with special educational needs and helping them to reach their full potential in an inclusive environment.
The school has a strong reputation for its inclusive approach and for providing tailored support that meets each child’s individual needs. As an SEN TA, you will be part of the school’s committed SEN team. You’ll work alongside teachers and other support staff to help create a calm, structured and positive learning experience for pupils who may require additional guidance in the classroom.
This role would suit someone patient, empathetic and adaptable, whether you have prior experience working in a school setting or are looking to begin a rewarding career in education. The school offers excellent support, clear guidance and opportunities to develop your skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one or small-group support for pupils with a range of special educational needs
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering inclusive lessons
Help pupils develop confidence, independence and positive learning behaviours
Support with the implementation of Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs)
Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and parents to ensure consistent support
Promote a safe, caring and encouraging environment for all pupils
Requirements:
Previous experience supporting children or young people with additional needs (in school or similar setting)
A calm, patient and empathetic approach
Ability to build positive relationships and adapt to different needs and abilities
Reliable, enthusiastic and committed to inclusive education
Understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality in a school environment
(A relevant Level 2 or 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or experience in SEN, is desirable but not essential.)
