Job Description:

The Role

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Senior Children’s Support Worker to join our team. In this role, you will support the day-to-day running of the home, provide leadership to support staff, and ensure the highest standards of care for children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager in the daily operation of the home.

• Lead and mentor a team of Children’s Support Workers during shifts.

• Provide high-quality care and support tailored to the individual needs of children and young people.

• Promote positive relationships, emotional wellbeing, and life skills development.

• Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed at all times.

• Maintain accurate records, reports, and care plans.

• Liaise with families, social workers, and other professionals involved in the child’s care.

• Assist in organising educational, recreational, and social activities.

Requirements

• Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent) .

• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children and young people in a residential or similar setting.

• Experience supervising or leading staff on shift.

• Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.

• Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations.

• Full UK driving licence (desirable).
