Senior Clay Modeller

Summary of Department  & Role

•             A candidate with excellent clay modelling proficiency.

•             To be able to read and interpret sketches and renders as well as technical drawings and CAD data.

•             Support the Clay Modelling Manager with the timing proposals and delivery of 3D physical clay models.

•             A minimum of five years automotive OEM and / or satellite studio modelling experience is essential.

•             Motivated with an excellent attention to detail.

•             Proficient in the use all wood working machines.

•             Hard Modelling skills could be utilised.

•             Excellent housekeeping skills. Ensuring they work safely and efficiently.

•             Ability to plan and prioritise own workload.

•             CMM studio milling machine operation skills would be beneficial.

•             To support the Modelling Manager in every day running of the design studio.

Main Activities & Tasks        

•             Support the Clay Modelling Manager with the delivery of exterior, interior and scale 3D physical design properties.

•             Work directly with the relevant design team to develop design properties for design reviews.

•             Support the designers with feasible solutions to design proposals.

•             Be able to utilise studio CMM equipment.

•             Have a good eye for design proportions and able to work to a high standard on intricate models.

•             Work directly with the Alias modelling and Studio Engineering teams to develop increase model feasibility.

•             To support Clay Modelling Manager in the everyday running of studio and studio stores.

•             Support Clay Modelling Manager in the production of timing and resource plans.
