£50,000 to £65,000 salary + Benefits

A well-established and rapidly growing business in the retail sector is looking to appoint a Senior Financial / Management Accountant to play a pivotal role in their Leicester-based finance team.

This is a confidential hire for a key role that will suit a qualified accountant looking to take on a mix of financial and management accounting responsibilities within a dynamic, commercially focused environment.

The Opportunity Working closely with the Group Financial Controller, this role offers full exposure to the month-end process and a chance to help shape financial controls as the business continues to scale.

You will be responsible for:

• Producing timely and accurate monthly management accounts
  
  
• Completing balance sheet and control account reconciliations
  
  
• Managing accruals, prepayments, and journals
  
  
• Overseeing inventory accounting and controls
  
  
• Maintaining the fixed asset register
  
  
• Preparing and submitting VAT returns
  
  
• Supporting statutory accounts and audit preparation
  
  
• Delivering ad-hoc and scheduled financial reporting
  
  

The Ideal Candidate We’re looking for someone with strong accounting fundamentals and a proactive mindset, who can operate independently in a fast-paced business.

You will be/have:

• Qualified accountant (ACCA or ACA)
  
  
• Experience with stock and inventory accounting
  
  
• Knowledge of import/export transactions (preferred)
  
  
• Strong communicator – comfortable liaising with non-finance stakeholders
  
  
• High attention to detail and good problem-solving abilities
  
  
• Confident user of Excel (pivot tables, macros, data models)
  
  
• Familiarity with Sage, Xero, or MS Dynamics 365 Business Central would be advantageous
