Their expanding team is at the forefront of fire stopping, glazing, fire doors, and structural steel protection, with a reputation for technical accuracy, client service, and long-term partnerships. With a growing pipeline of contracts and ambitious expansion plans, they are now seeking a Freelance Senior Fire Surveyor to support upcoming projects in the Midlands & East Midlands region.
The successful candidate will focus predominantly on fire stopping surveys, while also working across wider Passive Fire Protection disciplines including steels, glazing, and fire doors. Fire stopping will remain the priority.
You will play a senior role within the surveying team, delivering technical surveys, liaising with clients, and ensuring projects are completed to the highest standards. The initial project will run for 2–3 weeks of surveying work, with strong potential for further assignments as the team grows.
Responsibilities:
Lead and deliver surveys across Passive Fire Protection disciplines (fire stopping, steels, glazing, fire doors)
Act as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring professional and effective communication
Manage small-scale projects, including supervising minor installation works
Record and report works using Bolster (with some use of Site Audit Pro for smaller jobs)
Provide accurate recommendations in line with legislation, manufacturer guidance, and client specifications.
You will be joining a highly skilled Passive Fire Protection team of 11, with headcount expected to grow to 15–20 depending on upcoming project awards.
Minimum Requirements
Associate Grade with IFSM
Proven experience in Passive Fire Protection surveying (fire stopping priority)
NVQ Level 2 in Passive Fire Protection
IFE Level 2 (with willingness to progress to Level 3)

Technician Grade with IFE

Travel & Mileage
Fully commutable role within the Midlands & East Midlands.
Mileage reimbursement (if agreed) follows HMRC standard rate: 45p per mile up to 10,000 miles, then 25p thereafter.
