Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description:

Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Castle Donington - Hybrid

Contract: Outside IR35
Type: Full-Time

The Role
This is an outside IR25 assignment expected to last between 6 - 12 months with the successful contractor involved in the design of a range of fabrications and components used in turbomachinery applications.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create detailed 3D models and assemblies using Siemens NX.
• Generate engineering drawings
• Perform engineering design calculations eg Perform tolerance stack-up analysis , bolted joint.
• Preparation of engineering design reports
• Engage with suppliers and lead design for manufacturing activities
• Ensure designs meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Experience designing castings, machined parts and fabrications.
• Experience using BS8888 and/or ASME Y14.5
• Proficiency in NX software.
• Strong skills in mechanical calculations.
• Experience designing turbomachinery components such as casings, piping and structures is essential.
• Experience using Teamcenter, or similar PLM systems.
• Good communication skills with the ability to work in a small team as a self-starter
