The Role
As a Senior / Principal Town Planner, you will manage a broad range of planning projects, providing expert advice to clients and leading on planning applications, appeals, and strategic development work. You will develop and maintain strong client relationships, contribute to business development, and support junior staff as the team continues to grow.

Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing, managing, and delivering planning applications, appeals, and development strategies

• Providing high level planning advice to clients across a range of sectors

• Building and maintaining strong client relationships, contributing to repeat business

• Representing clients at committees, hearings, consultations, and public meetings

• Supporting the development and mentoring of junior planners

• Playing an active role in business development and identifying new opportunities

• Managing project timelines, budgets, and quality to ensure successful outcomes

About You
The ideal Senior / Principal Town Planner will be driven, organised, and commercially minded, with a strong understanding of UK planning policy and a passion for delivering high-quality work.

Requirements:

• RTPI accredited degree or postgraduate qualification

• MRTPI status (or close to submission for Senior level)

• Relevant experience in planning, ideally within private consultancy

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Proven ability to manage clients and deliver high-quality planning outcomes

• Strong project management capabilities

• Confident, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team
