Senior Purchase Ledger Supervisor

Melton Mowbray | Full-time, Permanent | Up to £32,000 per annum depending on experience

Are you an experienced Purchase Ledger professional looking for a new challenge in a busy, supportive finance team? Our client a well-established and growing business based in Melton is seeking a skilled Senior Purchase Ledger Supervisor to join their finance department on a permanent basis.

The Role

As a key member of the finance team, you’ll take ownership of the purchase ledger function, ensuring the accurate processing and reconciliation of supplier invoices. Working alongside 4 other ledger clerks, you will oversee and play an integral part in maintaining smooth operations across the finance function.

Responsibilities include:

• Managing and maintaining purchase ledger accounts

• Processing high volumes of supplier invoices and credit notes

• Performing regular supplier statement reconciliations

• Resolving invoice queries and discrepancies efficiently

• Preparing payment runs and ensuring timely supplier payments

• Overseeing and checking work across the team ensuring accuracy

• Supporting month-end processes and assisting with audit requirements

About You

We’re looking for someone who brings extensive purchase ledger experience and a proactive, detail-oriented approach. You’ll take ownership of your workload and be confident in maintaining accuracy and efficiency within the team.

Key skills & experience:

• Proven experience within a purchase ledger or accounts payable role

• Strong understanding of invoice processing and reconciliations

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Confident communicator with good problem-solving skills

• Team player with the ability to work independently

• AAT Level 2 qualification is desireable but not essential if you have relevant experience
