Senior Quantity Surveyor (Highways, Coventry)

Job Description:

Our client, a leading civil engineering organisation, is currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team for a permanent position. Our client specialises in delivering safe, sustainable, and efficient highways solutions across the UK.

• Taking ownership of the procurement phase of the £130 million A46 Walsgrave scheme
• Ensuring subcontractor packages are competitively sourced and contracts are robustly negotiated
• Managing commercial risks effectively
• Leading the delivery phase of the works, shaping the commercial success of the project
• Collaborating with a commercial team and reporting to the Managing Quantity Surveyor
• Mentoring early careers colleagues and assisting in their professional growth
• Managing the financial and contractual performance of the project
• Building strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and team members

• Proven experience in Quantity Surveying at either SQS or QS level
• Background in civils or highways, ideally for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 subcontractor
• Strong procurement expertise
• Experience with NEC contracts
• A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or similar (or equivalent experience)
• Professional membership (RICS or CICES) - desirable
• Commercial astuteness and proactive in managing large-scale infrastructure projects
