Senior Quantity Surveyor – Tier 2 Main Contractor
Location: East & West Midlands (Head Office in Nottinghamshire)
Salary: £55,000 – £70,000 + Benefits
Projects: £5m – £30m
Contract Types: JCT | Design & Build (D&B) | NEC

We are working with a fantastic Tier 2 main contractor who is actively seeking a confident, commercially minded Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team. The Role – Senior Quantity Surveyor

We’re looking for a Senior Quantity Surveyor who’s not only technically sharp but also thrives in a fast-paced environment. You’ll take the commercial lead on multiple live projects, working closely with clients, design teams, and site managers to keep everything on time, on budget, and to spec.

Key Responsibilities of the Senior Quantity Surveyor:

• Oversee the commercial management of multiple projects ranging from £5m–£30m

• Prepare and manage budgets, forecasts, and cost reports across the full project lifecycle

• Conduct valuations, cost value reconciliations (CVRs), and manage variations

• Negotiate and manage subcontractor accounts

• Ensure compliance with JCT, NEC, and D&B contract requirements

• Support tendering and procurement processes

• Collaborate with site and design teams to ensure seamless project delivery

• Lead commercial meetings and update stakeholders with financial reports

• Mentor and develop junior commercial team members

• Monitor project risks and implement mitigation strategies

What We’re Looking For in a Senior Quantity Surveyor:

• Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor working with a Tier 1 or Tier 2 main contractor

• Solid background in construction, fit out, refurbishment, and envelope projects

• Strong understanding of JCT, D&B, and NEC contracts

• Able to manage multiple live projects across the East & West Midlands

• Based within reasonable travel distance to Nottinghamshire

• Excellent negotiation, reporting, and team leadership skills

• Tech-savvy with strong Excel and cost management software experience

• A confident communicator who builds trust with clients and supply chain alike

• A proactive, professional, and reliable character — someone people want on their team

• Full UK driving licence
