Our client is on the hunt for an outstanding senior quantity surveyor to join a dynamic team delivering projects across the East and West Midlands. This is a true opportunity for a senior quantity surveyor looking to take the next step.

• Because some projects sit on Ministry of Justice (MoJ) or similarly sensitive sites, security screening is mandatory.

Responsibilities as Senior Quantity Surveyor

As a senior quantity surveyor, you’ll:

• Prepare detailed cost plans, tender documentation, and budget forecasts.

• Undertake comprehensive quantity take-offs across a full range of building types.

• Carry out risk assessments and value engineering to maximize project value.

• Manage interim valuations, applications for payment, and final accounts.

• Conduct commercial negotiations with subcontractors and suppliers.

• Track project costs against budgets and advise on variation orders.

• Report project financial performance to project teams and stakeholders.

• Mentor and support the Assistant Quantity Surveyor and junior QS resources.

• Collaborate closely with project managers and commercial directors.

• Conduct post-contract cost analysis and lessons-learned reviews.

• Ensure contractual compliance and commercial best practice.

• Liaise with clients and stakeholders—especially where security clearance is involved.
