The Opportunity

We are currently seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) to join a major highways upgrade project based in Nottingham. This is an excellent opportunity to play a key role in delivering a significant infrastructure scheme while benefiting from a flexible hybrid working arrangement.

The successful candidate will support the commercial management of the project, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration, and financial reporting throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and monitor project costs and budgets
• Prepare valuations, cost reports, and financial forecasts
• Administer contracts and manage subcontractor accounts
• Review and manage variations and change control
• Support procurement activities and subcontractor negotiations
• Work closely with the project management and delivery teams to maintain commercial performance
• Ensure compliance with project and contractual requirements

Candidate Requirements

• Senior Quantity Surveyor (SQS) qualification
• 2–3 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally within highways, infrastructure, or civil engineering projects
• Strong understanding of commercial management and contract administration
• Excellent communication, analytical, and negotiation skills
• Ability to work effectively within a site-based project team and remotely
• Previous experience with NEC contracts
