
We have an exciting new opportunity at PCE for a Senior Structural Technician to work as part of our Design team.
The Senior Structural Technician will be responsible for setting standards in modelling and creation of all drawings pertaining to construction and manufacture. The Senior Structural Technician must oversee projects and other Technicians working on their project, as well as delivering technical excellence, to standards set in the PCE operating procedures and expectations of the company.
This role also assists with creating procedures and updating where necessary.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsibilities including but not limited to:
Design
Ensure all control documents are raised in a timely manner to protect programme and budget, i.e RFI's & DCC's.
Advanced user of PCE digital systems.
Ensure own and others usage of correct design information on client’s portals.
Ensure own and others control of third parties’ comments on PCE drawings, overallcontrol of design outputs and information used.
Ensure own and others effective project control and delivery of project specific deliverables and programmed outputs, maintaining all key dates.
Assist / input into Design programme durations.
Collaboration
Lead and assist where necessary with client liaison and interaction/communication with the key project teams.
Attend design and project team meetings, arrange and lead these when applicable.
Ensure clear and concise communication in all forms and at each stage of design both internally and externally.
Have good knowledge and understanding about temporary works, Manufacture and Construction procedures and deliverables. Design in accordance with these and teach others.
Provide effective design support to manufacture and construction teams, including on site surveillance and prompt, clear response to all queries and information requests.
Strategy
Assist with the implementation of PCE's strategy for the successful delivery of projects, in conjunction with the project delivery team.
Clear understanding of the overall project goals and identification of the opportunities available to PCE to offer and deliver the optimum solution.
Assist Design Manager in establishing PCE's overall strategy for the successful delivery of design.
Quality & Standards
Responsible for delivery of project standards as set by PCE's offering and specification.
Create, develop & manage standards / processes for the life cycle of a project, throughout the design phase.
Support / Assist the Design Manager / Design Director in developing standards and procedures.
Ensure all lessons learnt are captured and added to best practice documents.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND BEHAVIOURS
Experienced / advanced user of Revit and AutoCAD or chosen software, to produce efficient, accurate and detailed models and drawings.
Advanced ability to create efficient and accurate 3D models in conjunction with project specific requirements as well as our clients design intent.
Advanced ability to create accurate 2D & 3D drawings for the purpose of manufacturing,
Advanced ability to create accurate GA's, layouts, sections, elevations, and details pertaining to project specific requirements and to meet the standards set in the PCE system library.
Must have a good understanding and sound knowledge of BIM requirements.
Experienced in detailing in all common structural materials.
