Job Title: Garment Technologist / Sewing Machinist
Location: Barwell
Job Type: Full-Time

Pay: £12.71 - £14.00 Dependent on experience

Hours: Monday – Friday start and finish times flexible (35hrs per week)

About the Role
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Garment Technologist / Sample Machinist to join our team. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge, a passion for garment construction, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced fashion environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Sewing first-fit garments and creating detailed specifications.
• Continuously identifying ways to improve garment construction for production efficiency while maintaining a high-quality finish.
• Managing priorities effectively to ensure all samples are completed on time.
• Measuring samples and thoroughly checking fit before sending to fittings.
• Ensuring sealed samples are accurate and production-ready.
• Creating clear and comprehensive make-up sheets for production.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Ideally a minimum of 3 years’ experience within high street fashion.
• Proficient in using lockstitch, overlock, and binding machines.
• Experience working with a wide range of fabrics, from stretch materials to silk.
• Strong understanding of fit, garment construction, and finishing techniques.
• Thorough knowledge of the production process.
• High attention to detail with a focus on quality.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Proactive, with the ability to use initiative and offer practical solutions.
• Positive attitude and willingness to take on new challenges.
• Strong team player with the ability to collaborate across departments.
