EMBS Engineering is currently recruiting for x2 Sheet Metal Workers to join a precision engineering company located in the Derby area, working on a permanent basis.

This market leader is a well-established organisation within the precision engineering industry and boasts a rich history of supporting globally recognised customers with safety-critical, highly complex components for key markets, including Defence, Aerospace, Power, just to name a few.

As part of their continued growth, and off the back of further customer commitments with longstanding agreements, our client is looking to expand their highly talented Fabrication team with new, enthusiastic individuals who are looking to test their skills by working on interesting, challenging, high-profile projects.

• Competitive salary: Circa £34,000 p.a (£16 - £17 per hour) basic + shift allowance
• Including shift allowance, salary opportunity is circa £40,000 p.a (£19 - £19.50 per hour) depending on experience
• Shifts: Late Shift; 15.00 – 01.00 on Mondays, and 15.00 – 00.30 Tuesday to Thursday

Your responsibilities include:

• Working with various metals and performing various Sheet Metal / Fabrication / Metal Working techniques such as riveting, spot welding, bonding, and brazing to complete the required components 
• Carrying out a wide range of manufacturing methods, such as hand forming, grinding, and stretching, for the construction of each part 
• Working to tight tolerances using thin-gauge materials such as aluminium 
• Reading and working off complex engineering drawings 

Successful applicants MUST be able to demonstrate:

• 3 years minimum experience as a Sheet Metal Worker / Fabricator 
• Experience carrying out techniques such as riveting, spot welding, bonding, and brazing
• Proven use of sheet metal machinery and hand tools
• Worked with thin gauge material (0.5mm - 3mm), including Titanium, Aluminium, Stainless Steel, and Nickel Alloys
• Able to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Worked to tight tolerances

Desirable but not essential

• Experience working on aerospace components 
• TIG Welding
