
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our client, a leading Tier 1 contractor delivering a complex infrastructure project involving utility diversions across multiple sites in the Midlands. This is a full-time, site-based role requiring travel between locations (own vehicle required, with site vehicles available on-site). This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to a high-profile infrastructure scheme, where you will play a key role in setting out, quality assurance, and utility works, bringing strong technical expertise to a dynamic project environment.
Key Responsibilities
Setting out using GPS, Total Station, and laser equipment
Ensuring works meet drawings, specifications, and tolerances
Managing QA checks, inspections, and documentation
Interpreting technical drawings and standards
Coordinating with site teams, subcontractors, and stakeholders
Maintaining as-built records and supporting programme delivery
Upholding health, safety, and environmental standards
Act as a mentor to junior engineers where required
Requirements
Minimum 5 years’ experience in a Site Engineer role
Experience in highways and foul drainage, multi-utility coordination (Gas, Water, Power, Comms), and setting out with QA processes.
Tier One contractor experience (essential)
Large infrastructure project experience (desirable)
Proficient with GPS, Total Station, rotating laser, and pipe laser
Strong understanding of highway specifications and standards
Qualifications
CSCS Card (essential)
Civil Engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree preferred)
SMSTS/SSSTS (desirable)
