Tax Claims Team Leader

Job Description:

A growing professional services firm is looking to appoint an experienced Tax Claims Team Leader to lead a small, high-performing team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with leadership experience in claims handling or accountancy-related services, looking to take the next step in a role with real influence and visibility.

You'll oversee the day-to-day operations of a busy claims function, ensuring efficient and compliant handling of tax-related claims on behalf of a wide client base – predominantly accountancy firms. You'll lead from the front in driving excellent service standards, supporting your team through training and mentoring, and working closely with senior management on performance and process improvements.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the end-to-end workflow of a specialist tax claims team
• Leading and coaching a small team, conducting 1:1s, appraisals and performance reviews
• Acting as a senior point of contact on complex or high-value claims
• Ensuring compliance with internal policies and industry regulations
• Monitoring claims MI, producing reporting packs and supporting leadership with trend analysis
• Liaising with clients to ensure service delivery is aligned with their expectations
• Supporting broader business initiatives and identifying cross-selling opportunities

What we’re looking for:

• Experience in a claims handling, accountancy, or tax-related environment
• Previous leadership or team supervision experience
• Strong client relationship and communication skills
• High attention to detail with the ability to interpret policy wordings and regulatory guidance
• Familiarity with fee protection insurance or working with accountancy practices is advantageous
• Comfortable working with management information and claims systems

• Competitive base salary of £50,000 - £55,000
