- Competitive daily rate: £150.00 - £235 per day

We are seeking a dedicated, creative, and passionate Performing Arts (Drama) Teacher to join a thriving secondary school in Leicester. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic educator to inspire students through Drama and the wider Performing Arts curriculum, fostering confidence, creativity, and self-expression in a supportive learning environment.
As a Drama Teacher, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging lessons that challenge and motivate students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 experience desirable). You will contribute to both the academic and extracurricular life of the school, including productions, performances, and enrichment activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Drama and Performing Arts lessons in line with the national curriculum
- Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment where all students can thrive
- Use a range of practical, theoretical, and performance-based teaching strategies to engage learners
- Assess, monitor, and record student progress, providing clear and constructive feedback
- Prepare students for internal assessments and GCSE examinations (where applicable)
- Support and lead school productions, showcases, and extracurricular drama activities
- Work collaboratively with colleagues within the Arts faculty and across the wider school
- Communicate effectively with parents/carers regarding student progress and development
- Participate in departmental meetings, whole-school initiatives, and ongoing professional development
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- A Bachelor's degree in Drama, Performing Arts, Education, or a related field
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS)
- Strong subject knowledge across practical and theoretical Drama
- A passion for Performing Arts and the ability to inspire creativity and confidence in students
- Excellent classroom management and organisational skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
- The flexibility, resilience, and enthusiasm to work with diverse learners
- Experience teaching in a secondary school setting (preferred)
