Full-Time | Term Time Only | Monday to Friday

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a unique and supportive independent SEMH school in the NG13 area. This setting is dedicated to providing a safe, therapeutic, and personalised education for students aged 7–18 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

We are currently looking for a resilient and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join the team on a temporary-to-permanent basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to become a long-term part of a school that values emotional well-being just as much as academic success.

• Provide tailored support to students with SEMH needs, both 1:1 and in small groups

• Foster a calm, consistent, and nurturing learning environment

• Support behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies

• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs, and therapeutic staff

• Help pupils achieve academic and personal development goals outlined in EHCPs

• Temp-to-perm contract – a permanent role may be offered following a successful period

• Has experience working with children or young people with SEMH or behavioural needs

• Remains calm, patient, and empathetic in challenging situations

• Communicates effectively and works well within a team

• Understands safeguarding and child protection protocols

• Ideally has experience in a school, PRU, or alternative provision (preferred but not essential)

• Ongoing support from a dedicated consultant
