SEND Teaching Assistant (1:1) – Year 5
Location: NG6
Start Date: Monday (Immediate Start)
Pay: £105 – £115 per day
Contract: Until Christmas – Potential to Extend

Class Mate are looking for a confident, resilient and experienced male SEND Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil on a 1:1 basis in a vibrant and welcoming primary school. This role begins Monday and will run until at least Christmas, with a strong likelihood of continuing into the new year.

The Role

You will be supporting a pupil with SEMH, ADHD and significant behavioural needs, helping them to regulate, stay engaged in learning and manage their emotions throughout the school day. This is a pivotal position where consistency, boundaries and a calm, grounded approach are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support within the classroom and during unstructured times

• Implement behaviour regulation strategies set by the SENCO and class teacher

• Build a trusting, positive relationship with the pupil

• Promote emotional wellbeing and encourage positive learning behaviours

• Work collaboratively with the class team to ensure daily consistency

• Support with personalised learning tasks and de-escalation techniques

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience supporting pupils with SEMH, ADHD or behavioural needs (essential)

• Confident, calm and patient with a natural presence

• Able to set clear boundaries and remain consistent

• Resilient and able to work under pressure

• Available full-time from Monday
