1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant – Inclusion Unit
Location: Derby (DE21)
Start Date: ASAP
Contract: Full-time, long-term
Salary: £90–£105 per day 

Class Mate is working with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in the DE21 area of Derby seeking a dedicated 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to support a pupil within their specialist inclusion unit.

The Role

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs

• Work within the school’s inclusion provision while supporting access to learning

• Support emotional regulation, behaviour and engagement in lessons

• Follow EHCP targets, support strategies and behaviour plans

• Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider support team

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience supporting pupils with SEN such as ASD, ADHD or SEMH

• Calm, patient and able to build positive relationships with pupils

• Confident supporting behaviour and emotional needs

• Passionate about helping pupils develop confidence and independence

Requirements

• Previous experience working with children or young people

• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

• Ability to provide two professional references
