Are you a Design Manager looking to take the next step and become a technical leader and a go-to presence in the UK's leading designer, manufacturer, and supplier of play and leisure equipment in the industry?

As a Technical Design Manager, you'll lead a team of CAD designers and engineers in developing imaginative, safe, and durable playground equipment.

This is a hands-on leadership role, overseeing the full product design lifecycle-from client brief to production-while ensuring compliance with UK and EU safety standards.

You'll be instrumental in aligning design processes with our ERP systems to streamline operations, improve production planning, and enhance overall efficiency.

This role would suit someone who wants to take full autonomy over their team and push the company to new heights.

The role

• Lead and manage the technical design team, fostering collaboration and innovation.
• Oversee the full product design process for playground structures and equipment.
• Translate sales briefs and client requirements into creative, manufacturable design solutions.
• Manage team workloads, project timelines, and departmental resources.
• Liaise with suppliers and external engineers for materials, components, or assessments.

The person

• Experience in a design management role.
• Experience in the manufacturing, wood/ timber to steel industry. (Experience with playground design is desirable but not essential)
• Proficient in CAD software
• Understanding of product engineering principles and manufacturing processes.
• Excellent leadership, project management, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
