Job Description:

Test Technician, up to £22.00 per hour, Automotive Electrification & Battery Testing, Commutable from Coventry, Hinckley, Leicester, Birmingham, Rugby 

• Work at the forefront of automotive EV battery testing!  
• 12-month contract role, up to £22.00 per hour (Inside IR35 basis).
• Role would suit somebody with experience of working within a Test Technician, Workshop Technician, Mechanical Technician, Electrical Technician or similar engineering role.

We are looking for a Test Technician / Workshop Technician to work at the cutting edge of automotive battery safety and abuse testing.

The role supports the delivery of automotive electric vehicle battery test programmes, through the preparation, set‑up and operation of test facilities, equipment and instrumentation within a busy, test environment.

Your background as a Test Technician:

• Level 3 qualification in a relevant engineering discipline
• Previous experience working in a test, workshop, mechanical, electrical, or electronic engineering environment.
• Be able to use hand tools and test equipment.
• You will have a general hands-on mechanical / electrical aptitude, careful working style, and a strong safety mindset.
• Be able to use Microsoft Office IT systems competently.
• A full UK Driving licence is required.

Test Technician Responsibilities:

• Prepare electric vehicle battery products for testing within specialist test facilities.
• Support Engineers in setting up test equipment and performing tests, which is a combination of mechanical and electrical engineering tasks.
• Carry out safety checks on products and equipment before and after testing.
• Facility and equipment maintenance.

This Technician role is commutable from Coventry, Leicester, Birmingham, Tamworth, Rugby, Hinckley, Warwick, Northampton, Leamington Spa and surrounding areas.
