Temporary Accommodation Officer - Derbyshire Local Authority

£25 per hour (umbrella) | Hybrid (2-3 days in office) | 3‑Month Contract + Likely Extension

A Local Authority in Derbyshire is looking for an energetic and organised Temporary Accommodation Officer to join its busy Housing Solutions team. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys fast‑moving casework, can build quick rapport with households, and is confident supporting residents towards their next housing step.

What you'll be doing :

• Overseeing a caseload of households living in temporary accommodation
• Carrying out property visits, welfare checks, move‑ins and move‑outs
• Drive forward move‑on plans, including identifying PRS opportunities
• Support residents to overcome barriers to securing long‑term housing
• Keep clear, accurate records and ensure cases progress without delay
• Liaise with landlords, agents and internal services to unlock housing options

What You'll Bring

• Experience in Temporary Accommodation, Housing Options or homelessness services
• Strong communication skills and a confident, empathetic approach
• Ability to manage a busy, varied caseload independently
• A problem‑solver's mindset and the resilience to work at pace
• Understanding of Local Authority homelessness and TA pressures
