The Opportunity

-Do you have a passion for and/or have worked previously in the Motorcycle industry, or perhaps your skills as a Test Engineer have been honed working more wholly in the wider Automotive manufacturing industry to date?

Our Client is one of the most iconic and well-known leading Motorcycle manufacturers in the World. Creating modern classics and with a healthy order book, it is our privilege to now be supporting them with the recruitment of an experienced Test Engineer to focus on Engine, Chassis and Emissions testing on a permanent basis.

Reporting to the Test & Validation Manager, you will be working on the test and development of prototype Motorcycle Powertrains utilising Engine test cells and Chassis dynos. You will work alongside vehicle development and project design teams to ensure product validation.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:

• Carry out testing and development in line with procedures and test plans.
• Installing and configuring Engines into the test cells.
• Working alongside the EMS team with base Engine calibration.
• Facility maintenance, calibration and equipment setup.
• Analyse, process and present test data.
• Assisting Engine build and changes during testing.
• Perform vehicle Emissions tests.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

• Should ideally be qualified with a HNC or above in an Engineering discipline or equivalent, although plenty of relevant experience will be considered.
• You will be an experienced Test Engineer who has worked within engine test cells or chassis dynos and emissions testing, ideally in the Motorcycle industry or if not certain the wider Automotive manufacturing sector.  
• Competent timekeeping and attendance are needed.  
• Good communication skills and ability to work with others.
• Strong engineering principles knowledge is required.  

It’s great if you also have the following:

• Previous experience with AVL equipment such as Bobcat, Puma and Indicom is preferred.
• Experience with Engine calibration tools such as ETAS INCA preferred.
