Job Description:
Expleo is seeking a highly organised and detail‑driven Test Planner to support our automotive customer across a range of advanced powertrain and test facilities. This contract position, based primarily in Coventry, offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the validation of next‑generation powertrain systems.
The Opportunity
As a Test Planner, you will manage test submissions from a wide range of engineering teams, supporting both internal and external test facilities. Your work will play a key role in validating powertrain systems-from early base calibration to certification and legislative compliance.
You will support the Lead Test Planner in coordinating the preparation and management of fixed facilities, ensuring effective project kick‑off, development of robust plans, coordination with rig design teams, governance, and delivery of high‑quality test activity.
Our goal is to operate world‑class test facilities. You will help develop processes, drive continuous improvement, and ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Review builds plans and generate baseline test plans to create clear work packages.
- Work closely with Design Verification leads to develop credible, structured test plans.
- Manage day‑to‑day project planning activities using Wrike, JIRA, or similar tools.
- Estimate budget and resource needs for upcoming test phases and fiscal periods.
- Produce and maintain a 12‑month rolling facility plan to support current and future testing.
- Gather technical information to determine the most suitable facility for each test.
- Conduct technical reviews of engineering statements of work and supplier quotations.
- Own delivery plans for each assigned test or suite of tests.
- Cascade requirements to rig design, system design, and test kit teams.
- Provide KPI reporting on Test Planning and Test Delivery performance.
- Support transformation initiatives, process improvements, and best‑practice development.
- Contribute to audit readiness for standards including IATF TS16949, OHSAS18001, and ISO 14001.
- Undertake any additional tasks requested by the line manager to support testing operations.

Desirable:
- Technical expertise and experience of automotive test facility and vehicle electrification component testing
- Experienced or trained in Agile methodologies, Six Sigma, Black Belt and Green Belt Training and certification.
- Educated to Degree level in a Planning, Systems, Mechanical, Electrical/Electronic or related field
- Knowledge of Python, SQL or other API to support digital transformation
- Experience of working in an Agile environment
Education:
Undergraduate Degree in an Applicable Field or NVQ / Apprenticeship in an applicable field with transferable experience.
