Trainee Electrical Maintenance
Location: Leicester
Starting hourly rate: £12.62+ per hour (dependent on experience/qualifications)
Hours: Full-time (42.5 hours per week)
Contract Type: Permanent
About the Role
We are looking for a motivated individual with an interest in electrical maintenance to join our team as a Trainee Electrical Maintenance.
This is a great opportunity for someone who may not yet have full electrical experience but has some electrical knowledge, practical skills, or a relevant qualification and the right attitude to learn. You’ll be trained and supported by an experienced team while working on a wide range of machinery, equipment, and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting with electrical maintenance, installation, and servicing of machinery and equipment
- Supporting fault-finding and diagnosing electrical issues
- Learning practical electrical maintenance skills on site
- Using hand tools and electrical testing equipment safely
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment
- Following Health & Safety procedures at all times
Equipment & Machinery You’ll Work With
- Conveyor systems, presses, mixers, and plant machinery
- Motors, drives, and control panels
- Pumps, compressors, and HVAC systems
- Overhead cranes and hoists
- Power distribution boards, site wiring, and lighting systems
- Hand tools, multimeters, insulation testers, and basic power tools
Skills & Experience Required
- Some electrical maintenance or installation experience or relevant electrical qualification (even at a basic level)
- Willingness to learn and develop as a maintenance electrician
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Reliable and able to work as part of a team
- Commitment to safe working practices
