Trainee Estimator / Bid Writer
Multi‑disciplinary trainee role with full training and progression.
A long‑established UK roofing contractor in Corby is seeking an ambitious Trainee Estimator / Bid Writer / Business Development professional. The company delivers commercial and industrial roofing projects nationwide and offers a supportive, growing environment with clear long‑term career paths.

Responsibilities
Estimating & Pre‑Construction
- Quantity take‑offs and measurements
- Tender documents, pricing schedules and cost plans
- Supplier/subcontractor quotations
- Scope summaries, clarifications and value engineering
- Tenders from £50k–£3m
Bid Writing
- Drafting PQQs and quality submissions
- Gathering technical content
- Maintaining case studies, CVs and method statements
- Using AI tools to refine written content
Business Development
- Supporting client relationships
- Calls, meetings and networking
- Occasional site visits
- Managing tender pipeline and opportunities

Ideal Candidate
- Ambitious, reliable, eager to learn
- Strong Maths and IT skills (Excel)
- Studying or holding a construction qualification (BTEC, HNC, HND, T Level, apprenticeship) OR practical construction experience

- Stable CV preferred
Hours & Location
- Full‑time, office‑based in Corby
- Mon–Thu 08:30–17:00
- Fri 08:30–16:00
- 1‑hour lunch
