Location: Hinckley, LE10
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent
Salary: £34,000 - £38,000+ per annum

Overview

We are recruiting an experienced Transport Broker / Trader to join a busy subcontract haulage operation. This role supports customers across manufacturing, retail and logistics, delivering transport solutions from single pallets through to nationwide distribution.

Key Responsibilities

• Resource and allocate loads daily, achieving best possible margins
• Schedule deliveries in line with customer expectations
• Proactively source additional work via transport trading platforms
• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing customers
• Maintain regular communication with subcontract hauliers
• Monitor delivery performance and manage any delays
• Work to operational KPIs and business targets
• Ensure all information is accurate and up to date within the TMS
• Participate in an on-call rota

Skills & Experience Required

• Proven experience as a Transport Broker / Transport Trader
• Strong background negotiating transport rates with subcontractors
• Good knowledge of UK transport legislation (drivers' hours, WTD, vehicles)
• Detailed understanding of the UK general haulage market
• Strong UK geographical knowledge
• Confident communicator with excellent telephone skills
• PC literate, with ability to learn transport management systems quickly

Location Requirement

• Must be able to reliably commute to Hinckley (LE10)or be willing to relocate prior to starting

Experience

• Logistics / Transport: minimum 1 year preferred
