EV Charging Interoperability Engineer – Validation & Test

We are recruiting an EV Charging Interoperability Engineer to join a leading automotive electrification programme, supporting validation and compatibility testing of electric vehicle (EV) charging systems.
This role sits within a Charging Validation & Verification team and focuses on delivering high-quality test data to support design release and technology advancement of EV charging infrastructure compatibility.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct EV charging interoperability testing (lab and road testing)
- Prepare and configure test vehicles (hardware & software)
- Validate compliance with ISO 15118, DIN 70121, IEC 61851 and OCPP
- Investigate EVSE compatibility issues (CCS / Combo charging)
- Support commissioning and acceptance testing of measurement equipment
- Perform instrumentation, data collection and analysis
- Work cross-functionally with vehicle engineering, software and hardware teams
- Maintain Failure Mode Avoidance (FMA) tracking and regression test cases
- Coordinate drive test planning and route development
Required Experience:
- Hands-on experience with EV charging systems or EVSE
- Strong knowledge of ISO15118, DIN70121, IEC61851 or OCPP
- Automotive validation, integration or test engineering background
- Experience in drive testing, lab testing or commissioning
- Data analysis using tools such as Tableau, JIRA or Xray
- UK driving licence (max 6 points)
Desirable:
- CCS charging standards knowledge
- Automotive quality standards (IATF16949 / ISO9001)
- Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt)
- Python, C/C++ or scripting experience
