Job Title:             Van Driver

Location:             Kettering

Hours:                  40 hours per week

Pay:                      £13-£14 per hour

Overview

I am looking for a dedicated and skilled Van Driver to join our clients’ team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in commercial driving, with experience in delivery driving and mechanical knowledge. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to operate flatbed vehicles. A background in warehouse operations will be advantageous as you will be responsible for ensuring efficient delivery processes.

Duties

Operate flatbed vehicles safely and efficiently for the transportation of goods.

Execute timely deliveries while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies.

Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and functionality.

Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of mileage and fuel usage.

Collaborate with warehouse staff to load and unload goods, ensuring proper handling techniques are followed.

Communicate effectively with customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.

Utilise mechanical knowledge to perform basic maintenance on vehicles as needed.

Requirements

Valid commercial driving licence with appropriate endorsements for driving.

Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with flatbed vehicles.

Strong mechanical knowledge to address minor vehicle issues independently.

Previous warehouse experience is a plus, enhancing operational efficiency during loading and unloading processes.

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with team members and customers effectively.

Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
