Water Hygiene Engineer
Salary: £28,000 – £29,500
Location: (UK-wide)
Start Date: ASAP
Travel: Nationwide travel required, including a minimum of 2 stay-aways per month
Overview
We are seeking an experienced Water Hygiene Engineer with a minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience in water hygiene, compliance, or similar field-based engineering work. This is a remote role covering sites nationwide, ideal for someone who is highly organised, self-motivated, and comfortable with regular travel and overnight stays.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct routine water hygiene monitoring in line with ACOP L8 and HSG274
- Carry out showerhead descaling and disinfection
- Take water samples and complete all associated documentation
- Service, clean, and test Thermostatic Mixing Valves (TMVs)
- Perform cold-water storage tank inspections, reporting defects and recommending remedial actions
- Undertake tank cleans and disinfections
- Complete calorifier inspections and blowdowns
- Maintain accurate records to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Build and maintain strong client relationships by delivering a professional, reliable service
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a water hygiene or water treatment role
- Solid understanding of water hygiene regulations and compliance standards
- Full UK driving licence
- Willingness to travel nationwide with regular overnight stays
- Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
- Strong attention to detail, communication, and customer service skills
