Job Title: Steel Welder / Fabricator Location: Leicester Pay Rate: £13.50 - £15.00 per hour (depending on experience)

Hours of Work/Shift: Monday - Thursday: 7:30am start

Friday: Early Finish!

Type: Temp/Perm role Start Date: Immediately

We are hiring for an experienced Steel Welder/Fabricator to undertake fabrication and MIG welding of structural steelwork in Leicester. This is a busy but friendly fabrication workshop environment, and you will be an important part of the team helping to meet production deadlines while maintaining high-quality fabrication standards.

Duties of a Steel Welder / Fabricator

You will be working as part of the Engineering / Fabrication team and will be responsible for:

- Fabrication and MIG welding of mild and structural steel components

- Working from technical and fabrication drawings

- Using workshop machinery such as saws, guillotines, punch/press brakes (advantageous)

- Moving steel sections and materials up to 25kg in line with manual handling guidelines

- Maintaining a safe and tidy working environment

Skills and Experience of a Steel Welder / Fabricator

As a Steel Welder/Fabricator, you need to have experience with:

- MIG welding of mild and structural steel

- Fabrication work within a workshop environment

It Would Be Beneficial to the Steel Welder / Fabricator Role If You Also Had:

- Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings

- Good communication skills, both written and verbal English

- Access to reliable transport

- Experience using overhead cranes

- A strong awareness of health and safety practices

Our client is a steel fabrication company specialising in structural and bespoke mild steelwork. They are looking for a Steel Welder/Fabricator to join their workshop team on a temp/Perm basis, with the opportunity to go permanent for the right person.
