The Role

As Workshop Manager, youll take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of the service depot. Youll ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards while leading and developing a skilled team of technicians and service staff.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Managing workshop operations and ensuring compliance with company procedures and health & safety standards.

• Providing technical support to engineers and customers.

• Overseeing job scheduling, quality control, and completion of all service documentation.

• Monitoring parts stock levels, returns, and logistics.

• Driving continuous improvement in efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.

• Controlling costs and ensuring profitability across all jobs.

• Developing your team through training, mentoring, and regular performance reviews.

About You

Youll be an effective people manager with a strong technical background in a workshop or service environment. You know how to motivate teams, build customer relationships, and deliver outstanding service.

Essential skills and experience:

• Proven experience managing a team within a technical or service-based environment.

• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

• Commercial awareness and the ability to manage budgets effectively.

• Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.

• IT literacy and familiarity with workshop management systems.

• Full UK driving licence.

Desirable:

• Experience in municipal, automotive, or heavy equipment industries.

• Formal leadership or management training.
