📍 NG16 - Hybrid (with flexibility after initial onboarding) | 💰 £30,000 - £34,000 | 🕒 38 hours per week (Monday to Thursday, 8:15 am - 5:00 pm, Friday 8:00 am - 1:00 pm)

Candidates MUST be available to interview/start immediately and commit to 3 months.

Are you an organised, confident finance professional with a solid understanding of best practices in AP, AR, and credit control? Do you enjoy leading people, driving process improvement, and taking ownership of key finance activities?

We’re looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our growing  business. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys implementing and overseeing effective finance controls, building strong relationships internally and externally, and managing remote teams.

🔍 What You’ll Be Doing:

• Remote management of transactional finance teams based in India – ensuring daily tasks (e.g. invoice postings) are completed and key control points are met.
• Take ownership of the credit control process, acting as the central contact for resolving customer invoice queries.
• Implement and lead regular comms/meetings for persistent debt issues, maintaining a summary of outstanding queries.
• Liaise confidently with internal teams and customers to resolve disputes, often involving large clients and complex pricing issues.
• Provide weekly updates on outstanding debt to investors.
• Support with bank reconciliations, AR funding reconciliations, and ad-hoc Assistant Accountant duties as time is unlocked through process improvement.
• Help define and enhance overall AP/AR controls, building structure and accountability across the function.

✅ What We’re Looking For:

• Strong experience and understanding of how a well-run AP/AR process should operate – even if you're not doing the day-to-day invoice processing.
• Experience managing people, ideally remotely.
• Proven background in credit control and managing complex customer queries.
• Highly organised and confident communicator, comfortable working cross-functionally and managing shifting priorities.
• A natural problem-solver with a proactive, collaborative approach.
